Electric UAS Flight Endurance Estimator

Estimate electric-flight endurance from battery energy, representative current draw, auxiliary load and operational reserve.

A planning estimate for electric UAS when representative average current or power data is available.

Local calculation: values are processed in your browser and are not transmitted. Optional profiles are stored only in this browser.
Active profile: Manual values
mAh
V
A
Use representative flight-test or logged current rather than a motor maximum.
W
Payload, compute, communications and other loads not included in the current value.
%
%
Held back from the available energy.
min
Set to zero for an informational estimate without pass/fail comparison.

Planning output only. Verify assumptions and results against authoritative data, manufacturer information, approved procedures, test evidence and competent engineering or regulatory review before use.

Calculation basis

Nominal battery energy is converted to usable mission energy after the available-energy and reserve factors are applied. Average propulsion power is nominal voltage multiplied by representative average current; auxiliary power is then added. Endurance is mission energy divided by total average power.

Limitations and verification

  • Valid only for electric systems and a representative average power condition.
  • Does not model climb, hover, transition, wind, manoeuvre, thermal limits, battery voltage curve or reserve policy requirements.
  • Use flight logs from the released configuration for operational planning.
