Calculation basis

Series count scales voltage; parallel count scales capacity and current rating. Energy is nominal pack voltage x pack capacity. Pack mass is cell mass x total cell count.

Limitations and verification

  • Uses nominal chemistry voltages and entered manufacturer ratings rather than a discharge curve.
  • Does not model voltage sag, temperature, ageing, cell matching, wiring, enclosure, BMS mass or thermal limits.
  • Validate current capability and voltage limits against the complete released battery and power-system design.
