WGS84 Coordinate Converter

Convert WGS84 decimal latitude and longitude into DMS, DDM and standard UTM coordinates.

A field-friendly coordinate conversion tool for WGS84 latitude and longitude.

Start here

  1. Enter a WGS84 latitude and longitude in decimal degrees. South and west use a minus sign.
  2. Choose Calculate to produce degrees/minutes/seconds, decimal minutes and UTM.
  3. Copy the format you need and check its hemisphere and UTM zone.
How to read the results

Calculation basis

DMS and DDM are direct angular conversions. UTM uses the WGS84 ellipsoid, standard scale factor, false easting/northing and the Norway/Svalbard zone exceptions.

Limitations and verification

  • UTM is reported only within its standard latitude coverage from 80 degrees south to 84 degrees north.
  • This tool does not transform between datums or resolve local grid systems.
  • Confirm the datum and coordinate order before transferring values into flight-planning equipment.
