Calculation basis
Loaded fuel mass is volume multiplied by the entered density. Unusable fuel is removed first, then the entered operational reserve is held back. Endurance uses representative volume flow; still-air range uses the entered cruise speed. The target comparison uses whichever of duration or distance requires more fuel.
Limitations and verification
- Fuel density varies with grade, batch and temperature; preset values are planning defaults rather than release data.
- A single burn rate does not model start, warm-up, climb, loiter, descent, manoeuvre, mixture, altitude or engine-condition effects.
- This tool does not assess fuel compatibility, approved grades, tank geometry, feed reliability, thermal management or regulatory reserve requirements.
