Start with the base device and working storage. Reuse the supplied USB cable, your own computer, an owned remote, and inactive training items already available. The case studies and paper exercises need no purchase. The official Wi-Fi board is optional and only relevant to the development work in Part 10.
Delivery eligibility depends on the reader’s country and address. The prices below are the listings displayed during research, not delivered quotations. Delivery eligibility to the reader remains unverified for every option. Shipping, tax, duties, destination restrictions, and final variant prices need checkout confirmation.
Base device — one Flipper Zero
| Potential supplier | Exact item and displayed price | Availability evidence and remaining check |
|---|---|---|
| Flipper official store | Flipper Zero, US$169.00; base package includes a USB-A to USB-C cable; microSD not included. | Page displayed in stock and Los Angeles dispatch with free shipping for an order containing Flipper Zero. Destination eligibility and final tax are unverified. |
| Lab401 | Flipper Zero, Basic pack selected, €149.17 displayed. Same base device; other bundles have different inclusions and prices. | Page displayed EU/US stock and an Ex VAT price preference. Shipping/import costs and destination-adjusted VAT remain unverified. |
Use Flipper’s where-to-buy guidance to confirm a retailer serves your country. A shop’s general international-stock message is not a delivery promise. No suitable direct Micro Center listing for the Flipper base unit was verified in this research.
Storage — one compatible microSD card
Flipper uses SPI communication with its card; its storage documentation describes supported filesystems and says 16–32 GB is sufficient. Reuse a card that is already working reliably. These two listings are different products, not exact-model substitutes.
| Potential supplier | Exact item and displayed price | Compatibility and availability |
|---|---|---|
| Micro Center — Shippable Items | SanDisk Ultra PLUS 32 GB microSDHC, SDSQUB3-032G-AN, Micro Center SKU 967877; US$24.99 displayed, regular US$27.99. | Correct capacity and form-factor class. The page retained Shippable Items and displayed “Usually ships in 5–7 business days” and Add to Cart. Address eligibility is unverified; this exact card has not been SPI-tested by THL. |
| Lab401 microSD card for Flipper Zero | 8 GB, FAT32, Lab401-listed compatible microSD; €16.67 displayed under the Ex VAT price preference. The page does not supply an exact manufacturer part number. | Lower-capacity alternative, marketed as compatibility-tested by Lab401; EU/US stock displayed. Verify the supplied manufacturer/model, capacity, and destination costs. THL has not tested it. |
The Micro Center shipping estimate is listing evidence only. It does not establish that delivery is possible to a particular address. Recheck prices at purchase: search snippets for this same item showed different historical prices and branch stock, which are not used as current local availability.
Optional extension — one official Wi-Fi Developer Board
| Potential supplier | Exact item and displayed price | Availability and compatibility |
|---|---|---|
| Flipper official store | Official WiFi Devboard for Flipper Zero, US$35.00. | Add to Cart displayed; delivery text referenced Los Angeles dispatch. Destination availability and total cost unverified. |
| Lab401 | Flipper Zero Wifi Devboard, €32.50 displayed under the Ex VAT price preference. | EU/US stock displayed. Confirm exact official board variant, shipping, and tax before purchase. |
The official design uses an ESP32-S2-WROVER module and connects to Flipper’s expansion header. It is a development/debugging accessory; third-party Wi-Fi tooling requires its own compatibility assessment. A generic ESP32 board is not an interchangeable plug-in replacement. Follow the official board documentation and power off before attaching it. No matching Micro Center listing for this exact accessory was verified.
Equipment for later experiments
The later chapters assume access to existing owned lab hardware or offer a reading/paper route. They do not prescribe a new credential reader, programmer, instrument, development board, or vehicle accessory purchase. If hardware is missing, choose the paper route and identify a suitable lab configuration before buying parts.
Our sourcing method compares at least two potential suppliers per recommendation, prefers exact-model matches, labels alternatives clearly, and includes Micro Center where it has suitable parts. Manufacturer documentation establishes technical support; a retailer’s broad marketing description does not override it.
